How the porch might one day pay for its yarn

There are no affiliate links on the porch today. This page is written before any appear, so there is nothing to find out later.

What this page covers: No affiliate links and no advertising exist on the site as of the date below. If either ever appears it is marked, it never costs you more, and a commission never buys a recommendation.

Today

On the date at the top of this page StitchMood carries no affiliate links and no advertising. Every link on the site goes either to another page of the porch or to something genuinely useful elsewhere, with nothing earned by anybody either way.

What an affiliate link would be

An ordinary link to a shop with a small tag on the end that says where the visitor came from. Buy something after following one and the shop pays a small commission out of its own margin. You pay exactly what you would have paid anyway; the price is not raised to cover it.

The three promises that would go with them

  • Only yarn, hooks and tools Marlene reaches for on her own porch. If it would not earn a place in the basket, it gets no link, whatever the commission.
  • Marked plainly where they appear, never slipped into the middle of a round.
  • A commission never changes what a pattern says, what is recommended, or the order anything is listed in.

A porch that gives its patterns away has nothing to trade on but trust, and trust is worth more than a few cents.

The programmes the porch may join

StitchMood may take part in the Amazon Associates programme and in similar programmes run by yarn and craft shops. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

Following such a link tells the shop that you arrived from the porch. It tells Marlene nothing about you, what you bought or anything else; all that comes back is a total, long afterwards. The privacy page covers the rest.

Advertising

None today. If any is ever introduced, this page and what the site remembers are rewritten first, and the network is named.

If you ever do buy something through a link here, thank you: it goes straight back into keeping the porch free for the next maker.

The other house rules

  • Privacy — the one list the porch keeps, and how to be taken off it
  • What the site remembers — the notes it leaves in your own browser
  • House rules — what you may do with a pattern you found here
  • Disclaimer — tension, gauge, and why two squares never match
